Call me a fan of music. I'm partial to acoustic singer/songwriter stuff in the tradition of James Taylor and Carole King. I believe in supporting my local music scene. I like to keep my ears open for interesting music, just a little left of center. Check here for my take on music and musicians you might not hear on the radio. Your input is valued. Please comment. Please share your own finds! Happy listening! I ditched the Ping play list in I-Tunes. Too complicated and restrictive.Let me know if there is a way to set up a player on this blog using my own mp3s.

We finally got rid of that nasty cottonwood tree that's been cluttering our yard for years. As you can see there was a price to be paid (beyond the fee paid to the tree trimming service). The big limb we worried might some day hit our house in a storm ended up hitting our house after all. The tree guy didn't have enough tension on his rope pulling the limb away from the house. You can see the result. He was embarrassed and apologetic and had someone there to repair the damage within 1 1/2 hours. We're glad to finally have it gone. This is the last mess we'll have from that tree and someone else gets to deal with it!
Thanks for the pictures Daddy-o! I would like a shot of the tree missing looking towards Pamela's house though. I need to be able to brace myself for all the changes when I come home for Christmas.

That is a lot of tree and a lot of sawdust.
How do you like your Eva Cassidy CD "Somewhere?"
How nice to have someone else do the work. It'll be really nice to not have to deal with the cotton every spring.

Thanks for the post on the tree. Mom said John took pics and I kept looking for him to post about it. Glad the company was quick to fix the roof.
